Description

Château de Marsannay 's 2023 Marsannay red (the generic "village" cuvée) is intended as an ambassador for the estate and the appellation. Unlike single-vineyard selections such as Clos de Jeu , this cuvée is a blend of different terroirs, offering a complete, balanced, and approachable expression of Marsannay Pinot Noir.

The 2023 vintage is characterized by a beautiful aromatic freshness and immediate deliciousness.

Owner and history

Vinification and aging

In 12 days, we harvest the 40 hectares of the Château de Marsannay estate with 100 pickers. Meticulous sorting upon arrival at the winery removes any bruised or damaged berries, keeping only the finest grapes. The bunches are destemmed and then placed in vats for cold maceration followed by alcoholic fermentation. The wine is aged for 11 to 12 months in new oak barrels (20%), then in barrels that have held one or two vintages, and finally for 5 to 7 months in bulk.

The team's opinion

This is a wine for immediate enjoyment. It is excellent to drink now to appreciate its fruity vibrancy, but it can easily be kept for 3 to 5 years.
