The Domaine Stéphane Magnien vineyard is situated on sunny slopes, typical of the Côte de Nuits. The soil, composed of marl and limestone, imparts a remarkable minerality to the grapes. The old vines, some over 50 years old, are cultivated with care, allowing for an authentic expression of the terroir. The region's temperate climate, with hot summers and cold winters, promotes optimal grape ripening, contributing to the complexity of the aromas.

Owner and history

Today, the estate is managed by Stéphane Magnien, who has successfully combined tradition and innovation. Drawing on his family's heritage, he is committed to passing on his expertise while adapting his methods to contemporary challenges. His dedication to sustainable viticulture that respects the terroir is central to his approach. Stéphane is supported by a passionate team who share his vision of excellence and his love for the great wines of Burgundy.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Domaine Stéphane Magnien is carried out with great respect for the fruit. The grapes are hand-harvested and destemmed before being placed in vats. Fermentation takes place in the traditional manner, with rigorous temperature control. Aging on fine lees lasts approximately 12 months in oak barrels, some of which are new to impart a subtle touch of wood without masking the purity of the fruit. This approach allows the wine to reveal the finesse and complexity typical of Chambolle-Musigny.
