The Valdarno di Sopra appellation is one of Italy's newest. Founded in 2011 in the Arno Valley, it comprises only 65 hectares of vineyards planted with Italian and international grape varieties. The Petrolo estate is the largest property within this appellation, with 31 hectares. In its ongoing pursuit of quality, the appellation is expected to soon add a requirement for organic viticulture to its regulations.
