Successions of several generations

It all began in 1850, whenJean-Marie LabruyèreHe settled in Les Thorins. He then acquired vines located on the best terroirs of Beaujolais, which would become part of the Moulin-à-Vent appellation in 1924. Since then, each generation has strived to preserve and develop this vineyard with always the same passion for wine.

More recently,Jean-Pierre LabruyèreHe was president of the Labruyère Eberlé Group for more than 30 years, before handing the reins to his son Édouard in 2008. The acquisitions of vineyards over the years have expanded the mosaic of estates in France.

The terroirs

The origin of wine quality

All areas ofLabruyère FamilyThey practice environmentally friendly agriculture. Their concern is to leave behind healthy land for future generations. Depending on the vintage and the potential of the terroir, the estates alternate between sustainable and biodynamic farming. The Labruyère family is very mindful of the potential of each terroir on their estates. It is with this objective in mind that they implement a plot-by-plot approach.

One family, four estates

Acquisitions over the years

Owner of the finest vineyards in Moulin-à-Vent, Jean-Pierre Labruyère wished to expand his estates in Burgundy with theDomaine Jacques PrieurIn 1988, he also became the first Burgundian to invest in the Bordeaux wine region, acquiring Château Rouget in the finest terroirs of Pomerol (in 1992). His son, Édouard, inherited this entrepreneurial spirit. Between 2012 and 2014, he established a presence in Champagne, in the village of Verzenay, a Grand Cru village and the birthplace of the region's greatest Pinot Noirs.

Thus, the Labruyère family's estates are Domaine Jacques Prieur and Labruyère Prieur Sélection in Burgundy, Domaine Labruyère in Beaujolais, Château Rouget in Pomerol and finally with the Champagne Grand Cru JM Labruyère.
