    Description

Champagne Adrien Renoir is located in Verzy, a Grand Cru village on the Montagne de Reims, an exceptional terroir dominated by Pinot Noir. This young family-run house, led by Adrien Renoir since 2014, distinguishes itself through its artisanal approach, plot-by-plot vinification, and rigorous work in organic viticulture. Deeply rooted in respect for the soil and natural balances, Adrien Renoir crafts sincere and remarkably precise champagnes. His "Le Terroir" cuvée perfectly embodies this philosophy: an expressive wine of place that reveals the very essence of Verzy's limestone soils in a pure and luminous interpretation.

    Notes and pairings

    Tasting notes

The "Le Terroir" cuvée presents a pale golden hue. The nose is expressive, blending white flowers, damp chalk, and a touch of smoke. On the palate, the attack is direct and taut, giving way to a chiseled texture with a delicate vinosity. The bubbles are elegant and perfectly integrated. The saline and persistent finish delicately prolongs the mineral sensation. A champagne of character, precise and deeply rooted in its terroir.

    Food & wine pairings

Perfect with sea bream carpaccio, fine de claire oysters or creamy poultry with mushrooms.

The vines for this cuvée are planted in Verzy, on the Montagne de Reims, a Grand Cru terroir renowned for its predominantly chalky soils. This Campanian chalk imparts a remarkable structure and vibrant minerality to the wine. The vineyard is cultivated organically with controlled cover cropping and careful soil management, allowing the full richness and complexity of the terroir to be expressed while preserving the natural balance of the vines.

    Owner and history

Adrien Renoir represents the fourth generation of winemakers in Verzy, but he has boldly broken with the conventional approach. After his studies and a stint with Anselme Selosse, he took over the family estate in 2014 with a clear objective: to produce terroir-driven, distinctive Champagnes, relying on organic farming and natural winemaking techniques. His commitment, precision, and love of the land have made his wines benchmarks for discerning wine lovers.

    Vinification and aging

At Domaine Adrien Renoir, winemaking respects the principles of a low-intervention approach: fermentations are spontaneous, without yeast or fining, in order to respect the identity of the grape.
For the "Le Terroir" cuvée, the wine is aged on its fine lees in oak barrels for 11 months, without filtration. This gentle and patient method gives rise to a pure champagne, full of energy, where the Verzy terroir expresses itself with precision and brilliance.
