This Barolo has a deep ruby red color, almost garnet. On the nose, it exudes aromas of black cherry, dried rose, and sweet spices, mingled with notes of leather and truffle. On the palate, the texture is velvety, with well-integrated tannins, revealing flavors of ripe fruit, licorice, and a subtle minerality. The finish is long and persistent, leaving a delicate aromatic imprint.

Vietti's vineyards stretch across the hills of Castiglione Falletto, where the mineral-rich clay-limestone soil is ideal for growing Nebbiolo. The vines, aged between 30 and 50 years, are cultivated on terraces, benefiting from optimal sun exposure. climat The continental climate, with its hot summers and cold winters, allows for a slow and even ripening of the grapes, essential for developing the aromatic complexity of the wines. Each plot is carefully cultivated to respect the natural balance of the ecosystem.

Owner and history

Currently led by Luca Vietti, the domaine The estate remains true to family traditions while incorporating innovations that respect the terroir. The owners are committed to promoting Piedmont's wine culture through their wines, which combine authenticity and modernity. Their passion for wine and their connection to the land are reflected in sustainable choices, aimed at preserving the biodiversity of the vineyards and offering exceptional products. Each bottle is a reflection of their love for the terroir and their pursuit of excellence.

Vinification and aging

The winemaking process for the 2014 Barolo Castiglione begins with the hand-harvesting of the grapes, followed by fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged in Slavonian oak barrels for approximately 24 months, allowing the tannins to soften while preserving the fruit's freshness. This meticulous process, combined with the expertise of the Vietti team, results in a wine of great finesse, revealing all the richness and typicity of the Nebbiolo grape. Before bottling, the wine is lightly filtered to ensure its purity.
