Owner and history

Hamilton Russell Vineyards is a family-owned estate, passionately and dedicatedly managed by Anthony Hamilton Russell. The Hamilton Russell family has been involved in winemaking for generations, striving to produce exceptional wines that reflect the unique terroir of the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. Anthony Hamilton Russell succeeded his father, Tim Hamilton Russell, and continues the family tradition while bringing his own vision and expertise.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Hamilton Russell Vineyards is carried out with meticulous attention to detail, aiming to preserve the expression of the terroir and the grape variety. The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted. Fermentation takes place in French oak barrels, with a varying proportion of new oak. Aging on fine lees adds complexity and texture to the wine. The wine is then bottled after a period of maturation in the cellar. The philosophy of domaine The aim is to minimize interventions, in order to allow the wine to express itself naturally.
